Matthew Stratton

Music is such a big part of what inspires me, in every aspect of life including my art. I listen to music while I write, as I paint, and when I draw so it's only fitting that it inspires my photography. It's surprising how much meaning can change with the addition of a beat or chord, changing the whole tone of a single moment in time. For every shot taken, there was a song playing through an earbud. No song was ever exactly the same in its tone or presentation and this forced me to look at every single shot with some form of a message and voice in the moment they were taken.
